Prayer and Reflection for Ordinary Time
Jan. 15, 2012 we as a Church move back into ordinary time. This means the time outside of Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter. During these seasons we had many rituals, symbols and services that helped deepen our journey of faith and commitment to the Lord. Ordinary means the usual, commonplace, normal. Taking these words to our faith journey means that now is the time to allow the roots of our faith to deepen that the ordinariness of each day can become extraordinary with acts of charity, forgiveness, fortitude in standing for truth, courage to face our own demons and remain close to God through His Spirit dwelling within us. The ordinary people called Saints can also be a pattern in our lives transforming society by our witness of Christ living within us. Let us take this Liturgical ordinary time and become extraordinary in proclaiming the Gospel with our lives.
