Dedication to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Devotion to Mary, the Mother of Jesus, is an important theme in the spirituality of the Sisters of Mary of the Presentation. Mary is seen as the one who is totally open and available to do the will of God. Mary is the one who hears and keeps in her heart the Word of God. This openness and contemplative attitude enriches the meaning of the Congregation' s feast day. Presentation of Mary, November 21. This feast celebrates Mary being offered in the Temple as a Gift to God. This offering reminds each sister to daily present herself in total dedication to God and at the same time to be a temple, a dwelling place for God. To look to Mary, therefore, is to walk with her to Jesus in simplicity, openness, and humility.
